2025
Hello it's year in review time.
I'm good! Family is good, work is going well. Maybe making less art and personal work than last year but trying not to fixate on that.
Work
Grateful to have a job that I like and I did throw myself into work this year. I've led a small team building a web design tool specialized for garment transfer printing. I got to do some really fun work with GLSL shaders, and a whole text rendering pipeline.
They sent me to a big printing expo in Orlando which was really cool to see too.
Garden

Garden did well despite some troubles with seedlings. Notable this year was my first fruit (blackberries and gooseberries), a bumper cucumber crop due to almost no cucumber beetles, and an excess of tomatoes and hot peppers. I go into details in this page.
Family Vacation
We rented a cabin on a lake in northern Minnesota, which we absolutely loved. My parents used to take me to the same area so it was very nostalgic.

Creative Coding
Untitled Adventure Roguelike
I started a game project I've been planning for some time, which is going to be a physics based 3D roguelike with a very specific sci fi setting and art direction. (which I won't get into quite yet). I have some basic progress on how level chunks are loaded and strung together via doorways, and am currently trying to get a blender -> gltf -> godot pipeline working that conveys blender instancing into godot .tscn relations

Was also getting into some interesting art pipelines with texture atlas hotspotting to auto texture objects and 'one click damage' addon for weathered stone meshes.

Fennel Fantasy Console
In November I decided to pick up work on my fantasy console project, rewriting the core with C instead of Rust. I did the #DecemberAdventure on it as well, which I wrote on here

Rather happy with how the C rewrite went, I put in features that were planned a while ago like per-app render texture allocation and window management.
Music
I did a full Looptober this year! Very proud of this especially having a work trip for one of the weeks, which meant I had to do double songs every day for the last stretch.
Full list of songs is up here
Some of my favorites:
- spillway three
- bell weather
- greenline
Sculpting
Really just a bit of miniature sculpting here and there this year:

Drawing
And a bit of drawing here and there:
